Ruma Tui have been learning about life in New Zealand in the 1800’s and finished off reading and writing about a lighthouse incident. Layla decided she was going to make hers a poem! She has done really well creating a sense of urgency.
Shining bright over the town over the sea all while my owner is drinking tea. When I put my light upon the town no one ever has a frown. Until one day I was feeling quite down.
Oh no my power I´m empty help!! Without my light The ships will never survive the night.
NO!! My bulb has shattered the Ship is too close to the rock´s and my owner´s out of his sock´s.
Huh the lightIs flashing before my eye´s wait what? that´s not the light flashing before my eye´s it´s the villagers with light in the night.
The light stand´s around me and makes me happy. The Ship is away from the rock´s and my owner is back in his socks.
My light shines bright again.
