Tauriko West SH29/29A Project - Stakeholder Forum

Dear Stakeholders
The Tauriko West State Highway 29/29A project forms part of the Government’s Roads of National Significance programme and is being delivered by the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
The project involves significant upgrades to SH29 and SH29A to support growth across the western Bay of Plenty. Further information, including a location map, is provided in the attached information sheet.
The project is being progressed under the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024, with NZTA intending to lodge its statutory approvals application for construction and operation by the end of July 2026.
As we move towards lodgement, we are establishing a series of stakeholder forums to ensure you are kept informed and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Stakeholder forum details
* Date/Time: Thursday 30 April, 12pm
* Format: Online via Microsoft Teams – if you don’t have access to Microsoft Teams then please let us know.
* Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
* Recording: The session will be recorded and made available for those unable to attend
The session will be facilitated by Craig McKibbin – Engagement Manager (Capture Engagement Limited) and will include presentations from:
* Andrew Wharekawa-Smith – Project Director, NZTA
* Jeremy Gibbons – Project Director, BBO
* Kathryn Drew – Planning Manager, BBO
The project team will provide a 30-minute overview, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
